Well finally, after a very long wait, a salmon was caught on our beat by Davy Dobbie! The catch will be recorded on the river catch section as soon as possible. Well done to Davy!!! The river seems to be doing well this week with many salmon being caught mostly further up the river by Stuart, Kevin and Davy. We have all got our fingers crossed that the salmon catches will continue but please remember all salmon must be returned due to the catch and release policy on the river at the moment. Our very own Susannah had a wee try at the river coached by her dad and Grampa and she was very proud to tell us all she caught a Rainbow!! This may be the start of a new hobbie for Susannah.

The ponds have been doing well with Bill MacKenzie and his 3lbs 12oz trout caught with a 'Corixa Nymph' holding the title until this morning when Willie Carrol took the top again with his 4lbs 2oz caught on a 'Daddy long-legs'  from the Inverawe. Neil MacRitchie has been holding the heaviest bag for a couple of weeks now at 8lbs 3oz all caught on the Inverawe. Please remember to check the board in the bothy when your fishing and if you can top it tell us!! The fishing lessons have been very popular the last few weeks which is good to see.

Hydro Loch closed - This will be closed on Friday the 14th August amd Saturday the 15th due to a private booking.

Inverawe has been kept going the last few weeks with lots of visitors at the moment we are doing a Treasure hunt for children under 12 years this costs £1.50 and takes roughly half an hour, all children must be supervised at all times as you will be walking close to water.

Hi everyone!

Well this week has been a slow week all round but the weather has been great (unless you are a fisherman!!!).

The River is still very slow, no Salmon have been caught on our beat yet with Mr Fulton and Mr Kettles on last weekend and back up this weekend. We have our fingers crossed for them!! The gentleman on the river this week repoted that he lost a couple of Grilse. The weather has not been great for the river, however, the last few days have been duller so hopefully this will help you all.

The ponds have been quiet, i think people have been making the most of the sunshine. We have cleared the board from Willie's catch so next time your out remember to report back to the shop with your catch to get your name up. Small flies seem to be doing the trick this week so far, however, this can change by the hour!!!

Our fly fishing instructor Phil has just been awarded his certificate for SGAIC in single handed trout. Everyone at Inverawe would like to say congratulations to Phil on this great achievement!

The InveraweSome Girls are counting down the days until the big walk in Edinburgh with just over a week to go the total raised is getting near to £4000 so please help us acheive this by donating online at www.justgiving.com/inverawesomegirls or by leaving a donation in the collection tins at Inverawe Smokehouse. All money will go to Breast Cancer Causes.

Well i think that sums up this week and remember please let us know what you thought of your visit by leaving a comment.

This year the River has had a slow start like most of the rivers in Scotland which im sure you are all aware of. We are still waiting on the 1st salmon of the season to be caught on our beats so the race is on for all you Salmon fishers!!!! The river has booked up fast again this year however we still have some week days available. This week the water levels are normal and the weather has been ok with some sunny days but as you know the weather can change at the drop of a hat.

The Lochs have been fishing very well with this months heaviest fish weighing in at 4lbs 12oz caught on the Inverawe Loch using an Orange Fritz by our Willie a keen regular of the Inverawe Loch but it will be soon time to clear the board so get casting.

Now for the fundraising information: 9 ladies (if we can call ourselves that!!!) are taking part in the MoonWalk Edinburgh in aid of Breast cancer. The MoonWalk is a half marathon which starts at midnight on the 20th of June and we will be walking the streets in our bra's!!! If you want to keep up to date with our fundraising efforts, see some photos from our events or would like to sponsor us go to www.justgiving.com/inverawesomegirls
